Jana Kalyana Samakhya (JKS) is a registered, secular, not-for-profit development organization established in 1991. For over three decades, JKS has been implementing sustainable development initiatives across Northern Andhra Pradesh and Southern Odisha in the areas of livelihoods, education, child rights, health, WASH, and natural resource management.

About the Project

JKS is implementing a Child Rights, Education & Community Development project in Rayagada district, Odisha, aimed at strengthening child protection systems and improving access to education and community awareness.

Position: Community Facilitator

The Community Facilitator plays a vital role in ensuring effective grassroots implementation of project activities. Each facilitator will be responsible for managing activities across 5–6 villages (cluster-based approach).

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary liaison between the project team and local communities.
• Oversee and manage project activities within assigned villages.
• Organize and conduct community meetings, awareness campaigns, and training sessions on child rights and education.
• Mobilize parents, children, schools, and community groups for active participation.
• Monitor project progress at the village level and submit regular reports.
• Identify challenges in implementation and proactively address issues.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, healthcare providers, community leaders, and local institutions.
• Support community-based child protection mechanisms.
• Ensure timely documentation and field-level data collection.
• Facilitate convergence with local government departments and services.

Qualification & Experience

• Graduate / MSW / Degree in Social Sciences or relevant field preferred.
• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in community mobilization, child rights, education, or rural development projects.
• Experience working with children, families, and village institutions preferred.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills.
• Fluency in local language (Odiya) required; basic English preferred.
• Willingness to travel extensively within assigned villages.

Work Location

Based in Rayagada, Odisha, with regular field visits across assigned villages (5–6 villages per facilitator).

Compensation

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, as per organizational norms.
